The PLIDA Exam
The PLIDA (Progetto Lingua Italiana Dante Alighieri) exam is an internationally recognized Italian language certification issued by the Società Dante Alighieri and officially approved by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It certifies Italian language proficiency from level A1 to C2 according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). The PLIDA B1 level is required for those applying for Italian citizenship. The exam tests reading, listening, writing, and speaking skills, and can be taken at authorized Dante Alighieri centers around the world — including our branch in Durban.
